Sreesanth

……..finally is warned and rightly so. Its time his antics are clipped and for his benefit it has come at right time.

When you scoff at a batsman who has taken a single off an ordinary ball, then there is some trouble on the top floor.

And its just getting frenzier and crazier.

Even then he doesnt understand and doesnt mend, then kiss him goodbye.

An honest Feedback

leave a comment »

Allan Donald, the former South African fast bowler, has said that if Sreesanth wants to play for India again he needs to change his habits. Donald, 42, who recently ended his term as coach at Warwickshire, the county where Sreesanth played earlier this English summer, was blunt in his appraisal of the fast bowler, saying it was high time he backed up his showmanship with bowling form.

“Just in terms of his desire, and if he has got any ambitions of playing for India for a long, long time, he should his change his habits,” Donald told Cricinfo. Donald arrived in India on Thursday and will shuttle between Delhi and Hyderabad as part of the commentary team for the Champions League Twenty20.

Perhaps no more honest and blunt feedback could have come from than any other but the White Lightning for the derailed Kerala Express.

This is a time when Sreesanth can either decide to play to the gallery and get involved in the realities shows and the dance shows, the movies with Mohanlal or Preity Zinta kicking up villians. Or else he decides to mellow down and let his bowling do the talking in terms of the figures and wickets than the emotions and the frill abuses to the opposition batsmen or a scoff at his own team mates, who unfortunately would have a big role in deciding if he returns to the team or not.

Remember sending off MS in the IPL-2 or approaching Tendulkar in the Challengers in 2005 which led him earn a place in India team or blasting off Dravid and Sehwag in domestic games. I am not even mentioning the slap gate.

He has last played for India good a year and half back. With a threat of the pace attack falling apart, this could be a remarkable time for Freesanth to make a comeback, albeit with a changed attitude.

What will Santh do ?

He wanted it. He got it

He wanted it. He asked for it. He got it.

A tight slap.

I dont think he would be welcome back in the team after he had run-ins with Sachin, Rahul, Sehwag and even Dhoni.

Handle your success well, else wahi hota hai jo sreesanth ka hua. Na IPL, na Indian team, just a 2nd division county me khelte huye dikhoge.

Dancing baby partners Tendulkar

with 2 comments

Dinesh Karthick returns again to the team once again as a replacement, once again replacing his captain of DD , once again temporarily. So is it a good thing or bad ? Bad. No other guy better than him ? Dude, he is not a fit for ODIs. Strike rate of 60s. Dancing steps. His partner would be none other than Tendulkar, and for sure he is going to get tad nervous walking with the man for the first time.

yeah expect a lot of dancing steps. He has to a replace Sreesanth as dance master of MIB and b he has hangover of that reality show.

Right in there DK, the middle. Thats your karma for at least today. Show your mettle. Show your worth. At least dont show us that ugly poke at the off stump delivery and the ridiculous shake of head when you are dispatched to the pavillion.

All the best babeh. Go score a 30. And dont run Tendulkar out.

India’s Kirris Gayle

leave a comment »

In most probability, India’s Chris Gayle (shunning Tests for T20) would be Yuvraj Singh given his attitude and his Test record. If and whenever that happens, we shouldnt be surprised. At least I wont be.

And next to follow the suite could be:

  1. Sreesanth
  2. Irfan Pathan
  3. RP Singh

And Pragyan Ojha could never debut in Tests, not that he would not be selected. Just that he might not find 5 days in the field too interesting and economically viable.

I dont say this on any facts or basis of analysis. But on the hunch and a pattern that goes into this lads way of cricket.

Veeru fires and smacks Appam out of the ground. Would love to see Appam Chut*** sledge Veeru and then the response Sehwag gives the overrated bowler. I guess in the past Appam had sledged Sehwag too and got the answer.

Appam is a adopted Punjabi, Sehwag is by birth Jat. So verbals would flow free and unbated. I also wish Sehwag goes out soon. Reverse superstition. You see. Did I mention somewhere that after Saurav and Sachin, Veeru is the man to watch hammering the bowlers. Absolute delight. Whatsoever duration. And the running between wickets is on.

Deccan chargers in the 1st game…..

Chennai Super Kings in 2nd game..

Roy is back. And so is Appam. Would be a keen contest. I m sure Roy would hit Appam to even more sixes than what Haydos did

Appam Hammered!!!

with one comment

Can somebody ensure we dont see him anymore swearing on opposition batsmen ? I loved Appam being hammered by Haydos. Should have been hit for 6 sixes and then a Bhajji like tight slap down his cheek. Fuck he irritates big time. He is a disgrace.

BTW whatta batting by Chennai Super Kings. So sad that the local lads of Chennai flopped and then Northie MS and Aussie Haydos played rockin innings. All for who said Badrinath is a bright star of Indian cricket. First ball duck to Pathan at his slowest speed.

Hamilton Test, Day 2 and Sreesanth’s injury

leave a comment »

It was a day expected to be India’s dominance. Unfortunately losing Sehwag in earlier part of play was a dampener. Not only did it slow down the Indian run rate, but also put the match in a bit of balance. Theoretically with the batting to come India looks to have an edge, but a quick wicket or 2 tomorrow morning could still turn the Kiwis back in the game. That’s the difference between Sehwag staying to make a 50+ or near 100 score. There were some solid contributions from Gambhir and Dravid who now looks the one of the yore but they threw the towel when they looked good to bat longer and bat NZ out of the game. Dravid was bowled to the blogger and Gambhir edged one to keeper off Martin. It was good to see Dravid getting the confidence which reflected in his batting. He was looking the Dravid of 2006 until the WI tour. Gambhir now is 0.02 short of a 50 average in the Tests. He has been a remarkable opener in his 2nd innings as Test batsman. He has looked defensive when needed, taken a back seat when Sehwag goes on fire, takes the faster route when a new batsman comes in and when the onus is on him to up the run rate. The flexibility he has shown is tremendous.

Once Dravid and Gambhir were dismissed, Sachin and Laxman slowed down the things. And that was beyond the comprehension. NZ bowling was disciplined at its best and by no means it was better than Aussie or English attack, against whom we have won 3 Tests out of 6. That was where the team lost the chance to go past 300 and take a lead.

Sachin was circumspect. And Laxman was slow starter as usual. Once they had done all the hard work, Laxman lost it to the new ball. That was one opportunity for NZ to claw back in the game. And that’s where the senior most pro in the world cricket’s experience came into picture. Sachin Tendulkar then cut loose and score 30 off 29 balls to steer India close to a 1 run deficit and in process score a precious 50. My superstition about his batting prevents me to write something important about him right now. Yuvraj is the man in now. Pitch tomorrow would be the best to bat on. And if this duo can score another 60-80 runs with some useful contribution from lower order, the lead could go to 150ish, then India could be in a position to win this Test match if they bat well. And that would reverse the trend of past where we lost the opening Test and thus the momentum sans SA 2006.

And I am hopeful Indian batsmen won’t get a whiff of SL or Pak or WI or Eng batsmen to bat on and on. I presume MS and GK want to win the test and not be content with the draw. That would be a change from the earlier tours.

Meanwhile Sreesanth has been ruled out of the IPL for 3 months owing to a stress fracture. He would now get a chance to jig his leg and rock n roll for his IPL team’s mentor and face something community. So he won’t be now facing trouble in dancing despite a stress fracture, but yes he would feel the pinch in playing the game which made him what he is. Amazing trait this guys. This kids just need to learn from their seniors how to deal with the fame and instant success. Dravid has said he felt really good today and that augurs well for the Indian Test cricket future. The trends recently have shown that he and other senior pros are needed. The so called young bunch isn’t ready as well. And the replacements of the veteran spinner Anil Kumble aint ready to replace his boots now and for good. He was one of his style. And there would be none like him ever again in India.

Day 3 would make or break the Indian future in this crucial Test series for the country. For now India seem to be a bit ahead with session scoreline 4.5 – 1.5.
