with 3 comments

At the time when I sign it was free, now it is a problem because Sri Lanka has put a tour to Bangladesh…

Yet another tour to Bangladesh. So Murali is going to skip Australian T20 domestic tourney.

Yeh log nahi sudharenge.

Koi na deshis, dikha do inko u have character and can beat them.

Yeh log bechare garib cricketing nations ki maarte hai and NZ, England ke samne bheegi billi.

Age is just a number

with 2 comments

Old timers are enjoying the week right now across the globe. Jaya and Tendulkar along with Dravid in subcontinent. Ponting in England.

Who said cricket is for youth ?

Perform and keep persisting.

Age doesnt matter. Its just a number. Much for hysteria of the buffoons who know nothing on the game and for whom sustaining the limelight is the only purpose.

How does it matter if you are 25 and keep scoring 20s and 30s remain in the team but a batsman who has had just 5 bad ODIs is dropped for 2 long years. And the man who scores 10700 ODI runs, only 3rd or 4th man in the history to have 10k runs in both formats goes out just cos he is 34. Was 34.

A 40 year old man scores a 98 in the game against India and the 32 year old scores just 1 and 17 and 31 year old hits himself out. And 37 year old takes 5-for in almost every 2nd or 3rd inning and a 26 year old fails after the initial hyesteria.

The top 4 wicket takers are the ones who blossomed in the later years of their careers. The drug abused blonde star who took 40 wickets in losing cause took close to 400 wkts in 2nd part of his career. A jaw broken bowler took 350 wkts in his last 5 years of career when people had written him off.

A 36 year old batsman has scored 9 international hundreds since May 2007 and 7 90s. Out of which many were wrong decisions.

Age is just a number. Fold the number and flush it in the commode of your loo.

Murali to retire

with 5 comments

…….only in November 2010 after almost 900 wkts, 200 against Bangladesh and 100 odd against West Indies, 100 against England and 70 against India and 40 against Australia. Doubts would always remain whether he would be called as greatest bowler ever to have played Test cricket. Cheap wickets would always go ahaonst him, more tests against BD and Zim would always go against him. And questions on what if the 15 degrees rule wasnt introduced on behest of Jaggu would persist. Yo Babehh………..

RIP Chaminda Vaas

with 5 comments

Chaminda Vaas retired today from the Test cricket. He would be perhaps only cricketer to end up as Triple Nelson (111 Tests).. So the Lankan media was correct that this test was being a farewell for this first world class fast bowler from Lanka….

He would be best remembered for being the first Lankan to take 10-for abroad and getting their first victory abroad in NZ in 1995.

Not sure he would be around to play ODIs and T20 till 2011 as he says.

He was the only world class Test bowler in the SL side along side Murali. But he has laid the foundation where the budding SL bowlers can emulate him.

In a way he was Kapil Dev for Sri Lanka.

His success mostly came against West Indies, New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Against top Test teams he wasnt that successful, but then subcontinent wickets have hardly assisted fast bowlers. His contribution to SL test cricket is no less than Murali, just that later got more wickets. Murali and Vaas were like Twilight vampires who hunted in pairs :) .

Super Sunday….

with one comment

with the Ashes decider in Cardifff

and 2nd Pakistan Lanka test in Colombo i guess without Murali begins……

Million dollar question — will Younis field same team giving rat and pig’s ass to ex-players or will he get in Fawad Alam in place of Khurram Kha or Salman Ijaz Butt…And who will keep for SL ? Sanga steps in and raises his hand and says me? Or Dilshan keeps doing it?

India me captain sahab khud keeping karte hain. SL me captain sahab kisi aur pe daal dete hai. Passing of the buck. Yadi Murali aayenge to kya Rangana khelenge ? Ya fir Mendis ko bhagayenge ?

Some key questions for Sanga Singh to answer…. BTW Q, if you read this wudjya let me know if Miandad has his mouth sealed with the tape? He hasnt blabbered since this defeat ?

Sri Lanka seems to have an edge

leave a comment »

Pakistan is giving a fight to Sri Lanka. Murali magic is on wane. Pakistan made a good comeback in the SL innings giving away 70 runs in last 12. And there it is. Murali takes onw wicket, the man to go is Scoop – ul- haq.

50 runs needed off 27 balls. Still with a chance though as mindless Afridi yet to come. If he fires Pak have a chance, if he doesnt then too Pakistan has a less chance. And he is a fuckin idiot. Mindless slog. And Pak seem to have lost it. Afridi is the man to be thrown out. Bowling is all right, but then he has to bat sensibly too with some seniority and some experience to his aide. But then he has known just one theory — hit it irrespective of situations or conditions.

Faadi comes in. Younis the key.

48 needed off 24. Pakistan seems in a bit of dicey situation. SL seems to have a bit of edge now.

Blame it to BCCI and Whinning Ponting….

leave a comment »

In continuation with Boatha the Chuck, i hope the bloggers dont attribute this to the captain tired, whinning and losing Ricky Ponting. And of course not BCCI!! puleeeeeeeeez. This age BCCI and Ponting seem to be the root cause of all evils in world cricket………..Indie bloggers wud curse Ponting, Lankans and Pommie bloggers along with few Aussie ones would blame BCCI!!! Gosh gimme a break!! And whom do i blame? Of course Chuck king. He set the wrong precedent in bending the rules for bending the arm by 50 degrees….

M&M no more a threat

with 2 comments

Murali and Mendis, no more a threat. Of course they never were, but whatever aura they had, its all down the drains now after an amazing assault from Yuvraj and Sehwag. Though one of them should have carried on till the end. Splendid Mendis, ohooooo. 53 runs in 8 overs and a wkt. Chuck goes for 55 runs in 8.2 overs and just a wkt, though equalizes the record, but whats the use if leaking the runs ? I am happy. But the duo should have ripped apart the SL bowling like a butcher pair. Go get the revenge for poor umpiring for Tendulkar. ICC taking a note ? May be India should lodge a protest against the umpiring like they did in Sydney 08. Why do all cheats come India’s way ? Have lost the count of umpires who all have given Tendulkar out when he was not. Bucknor the most famous and crooked of them.

2 for 111 in 17 overs are the combined figures of M&M.

There are no words enough condemning the 3 in row dismissals of Tendulkar. Silva or Dharmsena, the poor insane individuals have no right with half baked cricketing knowledge to judge Tendulkar out. They should tender an unconditional apology from Tendulkar like Rudi did it for Sangakara. But then are they gracious enough to accept their mistake ?

Are the Aussies only cheaters ? Look around, you wud find many

with 2 comments

Every body speaks of Punter and Haddin as cheats and against the spirits of the game. Hardly except this blogger, anybody speaks of :
  1. A bowler with suspect bowling action continues to ball for 16 yrs raking up 1270 wkts in international cricket with ICC bending rules in his favor thanks to the lobbying his board does.
  2. A batsman from India given out 2 times in row when he was not. Consecutive appealing by this specific bowler earns him suspicious wickets. Not once but twice in a same game. Many times across multiple games.

Is that fair ?

Aint the bloggers who term Aussies cheat being guilty of biased view ? If Aussies are cheats then the players listed above in the numbered points are cheats too. Raise your horizon. You would find many cheaters.

Even Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram were guilty of one such act in Kolkata Test of 1999 when they appealed for run out dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar even when latter was in the crease. Weren’t they cheaters ?
