Lessons worth Duck learning from Lewis…..Dyson makes a mock of himself….
Misreading the D/L method gave me two lessons:
1. Don’t block the last ball. Even if you think that you are ahead of the target and if in reality you aint, hit the last ball for a six or a four. That would seal the deal. Else you would lose your captaincy and the youngest chap in your team would take over the captaincy. If you are a keeper you would be dropped. And come back after a shock or two. Also you are thrown out of your own world cup. Making it 2 in a row.
2. And don’t accept the light even if your coach threatens to kill you. Its you the batsman in the middle who gotta decide the lights to be taken or not. You are a batsman and you rule the game. Rules of the game are in your favor. Use them. Let the coach go to hell. Anyway he would now go to a hell. And if you do accept the light, but ask the bowler to a bowl a ball and hit it to maximum so that you are ahead of the D/L target. If you are too behind, hang in there. Continue playing. Better to go down with a fight than meekly walking off the field.
What next is to follow owing to the continuation of farcical D/L rule in rain affected games ?
